NOMAD ELECTRICAL · PLAN YOUR ENQUIRY
Prepare your electrical work enquiry.
A clear description helps define the next step, whether you are planning an installation, a renovation or a repair.
Describe the result you need
For a planned project, explain what is changing and how you want to use the space. You might be adding lighting or power, renovating rooms, considering smart controls, upgrading a small commercial space or planning EV charger preparation.
For a fault or maintenance enquiry, describe the symptoms you have observed and which area or equipment is affected. You do not need to diagnose the cause yourself.
Include your property and location
Nomad’s published service area covers Ashburton, Mid Canterbury, Timaru and Christchurch. Send the job location to confirm coverage and availability for your particular enquiry.
Tell us whether the work is in a home, shop, office or another small commercial space. Mention whether the property is occupied and who will arrange access.
Share useful plans and photos
Room layouts, renovation drawings and photos of the space can help explain your brief. For lighting, include the activities that need light and any fittings you already have in mind. For commercial work, include opening hours and the parts of the premises that need to stay in use.
Photos should be taken safely, without removing covers, opening electrical equipment or attempting repairs. The enquiry is for discussing professional work, not instructions to carry it out yourself.
Confirm the scope before work starts
Ask what assessment or site visit is needed, what the proposed work includes and what is excluded. Discuss products, access, timing, price and any work that depends on another trade. A precise quote depends on the actual job.
Your enquiry checklist
- Name, phone or email and job location.
- Property type and a short description of the work or symptoms.
- Rooms, fittings or equipment involved.
- Available plans and safely taken photos.
- Preferred timing, access arrangements and any occupied-area constraints.
Review Nomad’s electrical services, then send your brief so the next step can be confirmed.
